Confirmed: George Russell races with Williams for 2019

It's been confirmed on Friday (12/10/18), 2017 GP3 Series Champion, Formula 2 Championship leader and current Mercedes reserve driver George Russell will race with the Williams F1 Team, for the 2019 Formula 1 season.

Russell, who has spent 2018 as a reserve driver with Mercedes, with two Friday Morning Practice sessions last season with Force India currently sits first in FIA Formula 2 Standings with around to spare.

Russell becomes the first British driver to race at Williams since Jenson Button did in 2000.

Great News to see George Russell stepping up to a full F1 drive at McLaren next season, well earned. No word yet who will be his team-mate next season, with my guess could be more than likely that Sergey Sirotkin will be retain for another season at least.

Great to see another British driver on the grid for next season with George Russell.
