Confirmed: Pierre Gasly joins Red Bull Racing for 2019 season

It was confirmed yesterday (20/8/18), that Toro Rosso driver Pierre Gasly will race at Red Bull Racing next season alongside Max Verstappen replacing Daniel Ricciardo, rumoured to be on a multi-year deal with the team.



Gasly, currently in his first full season at Red Bull's junior team Toro Rosso, described his promotion as "a dream come true".



Gasly will fill the vacancy which opened when Ricciardo opted to moved to Renault next season.



So far this season Gasly sits thirteenth in the Drivers' Standings with twenty-six points, with his best race finish of fourth in Bahrain back in April.

In my opinion, this is not a big surprise this news happen. It has been strongly rumoured since the news that Daniel Ricciardo signed for Renault next season. Also, last weeks news that Carlos Sainz, Jr. was off to McLaren last week that was more than certain that Gasly has got the drive at Red Bull.

Its great news for the Red Bull team as they have got a talented Grand Prix driver in Pierre Gasly.
