Review of the twenty-first and final round of the 2016 F1 season at Yas Marina Circuit on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
In a thrilling and tense Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, it was Mercedes driver and outgoing Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton took the advantage and he never looked back. Hamilton was on pole for Sunday's race. Hamilton took the advantage at the start and comfortably lead and despite holding up the traffic at the end to try and win his forth world championship it wasn't enough for Hamilton to retain his title. However, it did concluded with a race win in this seasons Abu Dhabi Grand Prix for Hamilton's tenth race win of the season.
While, Hamilton's team-mate Nico Rosberg finished in second place in the other Mercedes to give the team its eighth one-two finish of the season, Rosberg was four tenths of a second behind Hamilton at the end.
Despite Hamilton holding up the traffic at the end attempting to get Rosberg to finish outside the top three with a charging Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen behind him. Second place was enough to give Nico Rosberg his first F1 World Drivers Championship title and five points ahead of team-mate Lewis Hamilton. Becoming the second son of a former champion (Keke Rosberg winning the title back in 1982), after Damon Hill winning the F1 drivers' title in 1996. Contractions to Nico Rosberg for winning his first World Drivers' title.
Meanwhile, Sebastian Vettel finished in third place in the Ferrari to complete the podium, Vettel was eight tenths of a second behind Hamilton at the end of the fifty-five lap race.
