2016 Brazilian Grand Prix Review

Review of the twentieth round of the 2016 F1 season at Autódromo José Carlos Pace, Interlagos on the outskirts of São Paulo for the Brazilian Grand Prix.

In a wet Brazilian Grand Prix, included two red flags, few safety cars, heavy rain and some master-class overtaking, it was Mercedes driver and current Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton took the advantage and he never looked back. Hamilton was on pole for Sunday's race. Hamilton took the advantage at the start and comfortably lead the race throughout the race despite safety cars and red flags in a wet race to conclude with a race win in this seasons Brazilian Grand Prix for Hamilton's ninth race win of the season.

While, Hamilton's team-mate and Nico Rosberg finished in second place in the other Mercedes to give the team its seventh one-two finish of the season, Rosberg was eleven seconds behind Hamilton at the end.

Meanwhile, Max Verstappen finished in third place in the Red Bull to complete the podium despite he was outside of the points on the fifty-six lap of the race which showed an overtaking master-class from the young Dutchmen, Verstappen was twenty-one seconds behind Hamilton at the end of the seventy-one lap race.

With Lewis Hamilton's win in Brazil and Nico Rosberg only managing a second place finish, Rosberg still leads the F1 driver championship and now his gap between himself and team-mate Lewis Hamilton is gone from nineteen points to twelve points with one race to go.

While Hamilton could win his fourth Drivers' Championship in Abu Dhabi. If Hamilton finishes third and Rosberg does not finish in the points, or Hamilton finishes second and Rosberg finishes seventh or lower, or Hamilton wins Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and Rosberg finishes fourth or lower.
