It's Official - Volvo to enter World Touring Cars Championship in 2016

This was announced on Tuesday morning (13/10/15), the news Volvo will join the World Touring Cars Championship in 2016, in a "Multi-year" deal from Volvo, and become the fifth manufacturer to enter the sport under the ‘TC1’ rules.





Volvo will take on Citroën, Honda, RML (Chevrolet) and Lada in next year’s championship, will run under the ‘TC1’ rules that was introduced to the series in 2014.



The Swedish manufacturer's motorsport partner Polestar Cyan Racing team who has previous experience in the series back in 2011 with the Volvo C30 will develop and field two Volvo S60s for 2016 in WTCC.
