2015 Japanese MotoGP Review, Johann Zarco 2015 Moto2 Champion!

Review of round fifteen of the 2015 MotoGP season at Twin Ring Motegi, Motegi, Tochigi for the Japanese GP.

In the MotoGP race (V-twin, V4, or Inline-four 1000cc four stroke class), that was won by Repsol Honda Team rider Dani Pedrosa on his works Honda RC213V. Second place was Movistar Yamaha MotoGP rider Valentino Rossi on his works Honda RC213V, he was eight seconds behind Pedrosa. While, third was Movistar Yamaha MotoGP rider Jorge Lorenzo on his works Yamaha YZR-M1, he was thirteen seconds behind Pedrosa at he end.

In Open class (Full control ECU system, hardware and software), Avintia Racing rider Héctor Barberá won Open class and finished ninth place overall on his open spec Ducati Desmosedici GP14, he was forty-eight seconds behind Pedrosa at the end.

In the Moto2 race (Inline-four 600 cc four-stroke class), that race was won by Ajo Motorsport rider Johann Zarco on the Kalex. The race win was enough to give Johann Zarco the 2015 Moto2 title, Johann Zarco was 103 points ahead of Esteve Rabat after the outgoing champion withdrawn from this round due to injury with three races to go. Contracts to Johann Zarco for winning the Moto2 championship.



Second was AGR Team rider of Jonas Folger on the Kalex, he was four seconds behind Zarco at the end. While, third was Dynavolt Intact GP rider Sandro Cortese on the Kalex, he was fifteen seconds behind Zarco at the end.

While in the Moto3 race (single-cylinder 250 cc four-stroke class), that race was won by Ongetta–Rivacold rider Niccolò Antonelli on the Honda. Second was Red Bull KTM Ajo rider Miguel Oliveira on the KTM, he was a second behind Antonelli at the end. While, third was Estrella Galicia rider Jorge Navarro on the Honda, he was eight seconds behind Antonelli at the end.

Meanwhile, it was confirmed last week (30/9/15) that Aspar MotoGP Team has signed Octo Pramac Racing rider Yonny Hernández for the 2016 MotoGP season.



Hernández currently sits fourteenth in the championship, with a best finish of eighth place from Le Mans in May will switch over to the Aspar MotoGP Team.

No word yet who will his team-mate as Aspar has not yet announced, it will be likely be Eugene Laverty who will be riding alongside Yonny Hernández. As it wouldn't be current Aspar rider Nicky Hayden. As it was confirmed at a press conference on the Thursday before the race weekend (8/10/15), the 2006 MotoGP Champion will be leaving the premier class for a ride in the World Superbike Championship with Ten Kate Honda in 2016.



The former MotoGP Champion, will race alongside Michael van der Mark at the Honda squad, taking over from 2014 World Superbike Champion Sylvain Guintoli, who will ride with all new Yamaha World Superbike Team in 2016.

And finally, it was also confirmed last week (1/10/15) that outgoing Moto2 Champion Esteve "Tito" Rabat will step up to MotoGP class with Estrella Galicia Marc VDS team next season, in place of Octo Pramac Ducati-bound Scott Redding.



Rabat, has raced for Marc VDS team in Moto2 since the start of 2014 and currently second in the 2015 Moto2 standings, having claimed last year's Moto2 title.
