This week, Chevrolet has unveiled their all new car that will replace the old Corvette C6.R in this seasons United SportsCar Championship season, and will race at the 24 Hours of Le Mans later this season with Corvette Racing. Their 2014 race car will be the all new Chevrolet Corvette C7.R, which was revealed at the Detroit Auto Show yesterday (13/1/14).
The new car will more than likely use the old C6.R 5.5 litre V8. The C7.R will also race on Michelin tyres.
The C7.R will make its race debut at the Rolex 24 at Daytona of the United SportsCar Championship opener in a weeks time.
Corvette Racing have also announced the driver pairings for the United SportsCar Championship and 24 Hours of Le Mans campaign, Antonio GarcĂa and Jan Magnussen in #3 car; and Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner will drive in the #4 car. Also, Ryan Briscoe and Robin Liddell will be the additional drivers in the two cars when needed such as 24 Hours of Le Mans later in the season.
A race winning Corvette? time will tell.
