This season, I will focus on the rally side that is the WRC this season, which will includes the WRC top guys, WRC-2 and WRC-3.
Recap of the last round of WRC from this weekends round 1 of Rallye Monte Carlo in Monte Carlo of course.
This weekend was round one of the 2014 World Rally Championship at the Rallye Monte Carlo (16th-18th January), that was won by current WRC champion Sébastien Ogier to win the rally overall in the works Volkswagen Polo R WRC. While, Bryan Bouffier finished in second place in the M-Sport World Rally Team, Ford Fiesta RS WRC. Bouffier was 79 seconds behind Ogier at the end. Meanwhile, Kris Meeke finish in third place in the works Citroën DS3 WRC and the first time a British rally driver on a podium since Richard Burns at Rally Australia back in September 2003. Meeke was under nearly 2 minutes behind Ogier at the end of the rally.
Meanwhile in WRC-2 class (Group R5, R4, Super 2000 and Group N4 spec cars), that was won by Yuriy Protasov in his Yuriy Protasov backed Ford Fiesta R5. Yuriy Protasov finished in tenth place overall, he was under 26 minutes behind Ogier at the end of the rally.
While in WRC-3 class (Group R1, R2 and R3 cars) that was won by Quentin Gilbert in his Quentin Gilbert backed Citroën DS3 R3T. Quentin Gilbert finished in thirty-ninth place overall, he was 1 hour 23 minutes 19 seconds behind Ogier at the end of the rally.
