The death of a volunteer marshal shortly after last weekends Canadian Grand Prix while helping to remove Esteban Gutierrez’s Sauber highlights the dangers faced by track workers. Mark Robinson who was 38 was crushed to death when he was run over by the tractor-mounted crane that was lifting the car. The driver of the vehicle could not see Robinson at that moment as he had dropped his radio and was stooping to pick it up. Medical staff were able to treat him within 20 seconds of the accident but his injuries were such that his life could not be saved.
Thoughts are with the family and friends of the marshall Mark Robinson who passed away following last weekends incident at the track.
