Review of the round five of the 2013 MotoGP season at the Mugello Circuit, in Mugello, Italy.
In the MotoGP race (V-twin, V4, or Inline-four 1000cc four stroke class), that was won by Yamaha Factory Racing rider and current MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo in his works Yamaha YZR-M1. Second place was was Repsol Honda Team rider Dani Pedorsa, in his works Honda RC213V, Pedrosa was over 5 seconds behind Lorenzo at the end. While, third place was Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider Cal Crutchlow on his satellite spec Yamaha YZR-M1, Crutchlow was over 6 seconds behind Lorenzo at the end.
In CRT class (Claiming Rule Teams, street bike engines rather than non prototype engines), the Power Electronics Aspar rider Aleix Espargaró won CRT class and finished 8th overall in his ART (Aprilia), he was under 40 seconds behind Lorenzo at the end.
In the Moto2 race (Inline-four 600 cc four-stroke class), that race was won by Marc VDS Racing Team rider Scott Redding on the Kalex, and his second Moto2 race win in a row. Second was Mapfre Aspar Team Moto2 rider Nicolas Terol on the Suter, he was over 2 seconds behind Redding at the end. While, third was Came IodaRacing Project rider Johann Zarco on the Suter, he was also over 4 seconds behind Redding at the end of the race.
While in the Moto3 race (single-cylinder 250 cc four-stroke class), that race was won by Red Bull KTM Ajo rider Luis Salom on the KTM. Second was Estrella Galicia rider Álex Rins on the KTM, he was just over one tenth second behind Salom at the end of the race. While, third was was Team Calvo rider Maverick Viñales on the KTM, he was also over three tenths of a second behind Salom at the end of the race.
