This week Caterham has revealed a sponsorship deal with the Greaves Motorsport LMP2 squad for this year's Le Mans 24 Hours race is part of an evaluation of an entry into the LMP2 customer prototype market.
Caterham liveried Greaves Motorsport LMP2 team, will run the livery of its Zytek-Nissan Z11SN 4.5 litre V8 race car under the Caterham Motorsport banner at the 24 Hours on June 22/23. It will be raced by the Caterham F1 reserve driver Alexander Rossi, Tom Kimber-Smith and Eric Lux. Mike Gascoyne, who is now in charge of Caterham Technology & Innovation says that it might be possible for the company to build its very own LMP2 cars in the future as early before 2015 and supply them to customer teams as-well.
The interest of the Caterham Group in endurance racing follows after Caterham Cars purchases 50% of Alpine in a deal with Renault to produce new Alpine and Caterham cars.
