2012 Petit Le Mans Review

As the title says a Petit Le Mans Review of the race. Last Round of the American Le Mans Series 2012 season at Road Atlanta. WEC LMP1 regulars Rebellion Racing won the race overall and P1 class in their Lola-Toyota 3.4l V8 with drivers Neel Jani, Nicolas Prost and Andrea Belicchi. Three laps ahead of P2 class winners Level 5 Motorsports team in their HPD ARX-03b Honda 2.8l Turbo V6, of Scott Tucker, Christophe Bouchut and Luis Díaz. While the second Level 5 Motorsports of Scott Tucker, Dario Franchitti and Marino Franchitti finished third.





Meanwhile, the DeltaWing finished its first race finished at Petit Le Mans, Lucas Ordonez and Gunnar Jeannette in the Highcroft DeltaWing-Nissan, finished in fifth place, six laps behind the Rebellion Racing team. Despite a huge crash on Wednesday afternoon.



In PC class (LMPC), CORE Autosport team with Alex Popow, Ryan Dalziel and Mark Wilkins won the class and finished sixth overall. While in GT class, that was won by Extreme Speed Motorsports in their Ferrari 458 GTC with Scott Sharp, Johannes van Overbeek and Toni Vilander finished 12th overall. In GTE-am class was won by IMSA Performance Matmut team of Raymond Narac, Nicolas Armindo and Anthony Pons in their Porsche 997 GT3-RSR and finished 23rd overall. In GTC class was won by NGT Motorsport in their Porsche 997 GT3 Cup with Henrique Cisneros, Mario Farnbacher and Jakob Giermaziak and finished 25th overall.

Meanwhile, Klaus Graf and Lucas Luhr won the ALMS P1 class champions overall in their HPD ARX-03a Honda LM-V8 3.4 L V8 for Muscle Milk Pickett Racing team. P2 class champions overall was won by Scott Tucker and Christophe Bouchut. In PC class champion was Alex Popow. GT class champions were Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner with their Corvette Racing team backed Chevrolet Corvette C6.R. While GTC champion was Cooper MacNeil in his Alex Job Racing backed Porsche 997 GT3 Cup.
