Mosley became FIA president in 1993 replacing Jean-Marie Balestre. Mosley’s FIA Presidency will be remembered on making Formula 1, Motor-racing in general safer after the fatal crashes of Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, that prompted an overhaul of safety measures in Formula 1 and throughout motorsport and even the car industry safer as-well.
Mosley Presidency came to an end in 2009 amid off-track strife both in Formula 1 and in his personal life, Mosley was replaced by current FIA president Jean Todt.
