Recap of the last round of WRC from this weekends Round Four of Rally de Portugal.
This weekend was the fourth round of the World Rally Championship at the Rally de Portugal (20-23rd May) that was won by Elfyn Evans in his works Toyota Yaris WRC.
While, Dani Sordo finished second in his works Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC. Sordo was only twenty-three second behind Evans at the end of the rally. Meanwhile, Current WRC Champion Sébastien Ogier finished third in the works Toyota Yaris WRC, Ogier was eighty-three seconds behind Evans at the end of the rally.
Meanwhile in WRC-2 class (Manufacturer entries competing in cars built to Group R5 specifications), that was won by Movisport driver Esapekka Lappi in his Volkswagen Polo GTI R5. Esapekka Lappi finished in seventh place overall, he was ten minutes behind Evans at the end of the rally.
While in WRC-3 class (Open to privately-entered cars; Group R5, R4, Super 2000 and Group N4 spec cars), that was won by Kajetan Kajetanowicz in his own backed Škoda Fabia R5 Evo. Kajetan Kajetanowicz finished in thirteenth place overall, he was fourteen minutes behind Evans at the end of the rally.
Meanwhile in Junior-WRC class (Competing in identical one-litre Ford Fiesta R2s built and maintained by M-Sport) that was won by Mārtiņš Sesks. Mārtiņš Sesks finished in twenty-fifth place overall, he was thirty-seven minutes behind Evans at the end of the rally.
Next stop, Round Five of the 2021 WRC season for Rally Italia Sardegna in two weeks time.
