2021 BTCC Round 1 Recap

Review of Round One of the 2021 British Touring Car Championship season was at Thruxton, in Hampshire.

In the first race, BTC Racing driver Josh Cook took the race win in his Honda Civic Type R and also took Independents class win. Second was Ginsters Excelr8 with TradePriceCars.com driver Tom Ingram in his Hyundai i30 Fastback N Performance, he was two seconds behind Cook in the end. While third place was MB Motorsport accelerated by Blue Square driver Jake Hill in his Ford Focus ST, he was four seconds behind behind Cook in the end.

While, Jack Sears Trophy (for drivers yet to record an overall podium finish or won outright the Jack Sears Trophy championship) was won by Halfords Racing with Cataclean driver Daniel Rowbottom in his Honda Civic Type R, he finished in eighth place and was thirteen seconds behind Cook in the end.



Meanwhile in the second race, BTC Racing driver Josh Cook took the race win in his Honda Civic Type R and also took Independents class win. Second was BTC Racing driver Dan Cammish in his Honda Civic Type R, he was two tenths of a second behind Cook in the end. While third place was MB Motorsport accelerated by Blue Square driver Jake Hill in his Ford Focus ST, he was sixteen tenths of a second behind behind Cook in the end.

While, Jack Sears Trophy was won by Halfords Racing with Cataclean driver Daniel Rowbottom in his Honda Civic Type R, he finished in fourth place and was five seconds behind Cook in the end.



Finally in the third race, Laser Tools Racing driver and current BTCC Champion Ash Sutton took the race win in his Infiniti Q50 and also took Independents class win. Second was Adrian Flux with Power Maxed Racing driver Jason Plato in his Vauxhall Astra, he was four and half seconds behind Sutton in the end. While third place was MB Motorsport accelerated by Blue Square driver Jake Hill in his Ford Focus ST, he was five seconds behind behind Sutton in the end.

While, Jack Sears Trophy was won by Racing with Wera and Photon Group driver Sam Osborne in his Ford Focus ST, he finished in twelfth place and was twenty-five seconds behind Sutton in the end.



Next stop Snetterton for Round Two of the 2021 British Touring Car Championship season in five weeks time.
