2021 Spanish Grand Prix Review

Review of the fourth round of the 2021 F1 season at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, on the outskirts of Barcelona, for the Spanish Grand Prix.

It was an entertaining race to watch from start to finish. Current Formula 1 World Champion Sir Lewis Hamilton on pole for Sunday's race for his one hundredth pole position in Formula 1 becoming the first driver to achieve over one hundred poles in doing so.


At the start of the Spanish Grand Prix, Max Verstappenwho took the lead ahead of Hamilton going into turn 1. By lap 43, Hamilton opted to take a second pit-stop for fresh medium tyres, while Verstappen opted to stay on the track with his used medium tyres. With that gap reduced lap by lap, by the start of lap 60 Hamilton took the lead from Verstappen at turn 1 and stayed there to the end to conclude with a race win in this seasons Spanish Grand Prix for Sir Lewis Hamilton's third race win of the season.


While, Max Verstappen finished in second place in the Red Bull, Verstappen was sixteen seconds behind Hamilton at the end.

Meanwhile, Valtteri Bottas finished in third place in the other Mercedes to complete the podium, Bottas was twenty-six seconds behind Hamilton at the end of the sixty-six lap race.
