BMW has unveiled their new GTE contender that will race in time for the start of next season. The BMW M8 GTE, which was launched at Frankfurt Motor Show on Tuesday (12/9/17), will succeeds its predecessor the BMW M6 GT3 for next season.
BMW will compete in the World Endurance Championship, and United SportsCar Championship next year.
The BMW M8 GTE will have the 4 litre twin-turbo V8 engine from the road-going car, producing up to 585hp. M8 GTE will weigh in over 1,300Kgs and Michelin who will also be supplying the tyres.
While the BMW M8 GTE will make its debut in next January's Daytona 24 Hours.
The M8 GTE will be the first factory BMW to enter Le Mans since 2011, so no pressure from BMW next season.
