2017 World RX Round 10 Recap - World RX of Latvia, Johan Kristoffersson 2017 World Rallycross Champion!

Review of Round Ten of the 2017 World Rallycross Championship season was the World RX of Latvia, at Biķernieku Kompleksā Sporta Bāze on the outskirts of Riga, Latvia.

In the four Heats, those were won by Johan Kristoffersson (winning twice), Toomas Heikkinen, and Sébastien Loeb.

In the first semi-final that was won by PSRX Volkswagen Sweden driver Johan Kristoffersson in his Volkswagen Polo GTI. Second was EKS RX driver and current World Rallycross Champion Mattias Ekström in his Audi S1, he was two and half seconds behind Kristoffersson in the end. While, third was Hoonigan Racing Division driver Andreas Bakkerud in his Ford Focus RS, he was four and half seconds behind Kristoffersson in the end.

In the second semi-final that was won by Team Peugeot-Hansen driver Sébastien Loeb in his Peugeot 208. Second was EKS RX driver Nico Müller in his Audi S1, he was four and half second behind Loeb in the end. While, third was STARD driver Jānis Baumanis in his Ford Fiesta, he was five seconds behind Loeb in the end.

In the final race, PSRX Volkswagen Sweden driver Johan Kristoffersson took the race win in his Volkswagen Polo GTI. That was enough for Johan Kristoffersson to be 2017 World Rallycross Drivers' Champion for his first title win. Johan Kristoffersson is now 62 points ahead of Petter Solberg with two rounds to spare.



Second was EKS RX driver and outgoing World Rallycross Champion Mattias Ekström in his Audi S1, he was two and half seconds behind Kristoffersson in the end. While, third was Team Peugeot-Hansen driver Sébastien Loeb in his Peugeot 208, he was four seconds behind Kristoffersson in the end.



Next stop World RX of Germany at Estering for Round Eleven of the 2017 World Rallycross Championship season in two weeks time.
