2017 Italy MotoGP Review and Jonas Folger remains at Tech 3 Yamaha for 2018 MotoGP Season

Review of round six of the 2017 MotoGP season at the Mugello Circuit, in Mugello, Italy.

In the MotoGP race (V-twin, V4, or Inline-four 1000cc four stroke class), that was won by Ducati Team rider Andrea Dovizioso on his works Ducati Desmosedici GP17.



Second was Movistar Yamaha MotoGP rider Maverick Viñales on his works Yamaha YZR-M1, he was thirteen tenths of a second behind Dovizioso at the end. While, third was Octo Pramac Racing rider Danilo Petrucci on his Ducati Desmosedici GP17, he was two seconds behind Dovizioso at the end of the race.

In the Moto2 race (Inline-four 600 cc four-stroke class), that race was won by Italtrans Racing Team rider Mattia Pasini on the Kalex. Second was CarXpert Interwetten rider Thomas Lüthi on the Kalex, he was five hundredths of a second behind Pasini at the end. While, third was EG 0,0 Marc VDS rider Álex Márquez on the Kalex, he was fourteen hundredths of a second behind Pasini at the end of the race.

While in the Moto3 race (single-cylinder 250 cc four-stroke class), that race was won by Sky Racing Team VR46 rider Andrea Migno on the KTM. Second was Del Conca Gresini Racing Moto3 rider Fabio Di Giannantonio on the Honda, he was four hundredths of a second behind Migno at the end. While, third was RBA BOE Racing Team rider Juan Francisco Guevara on the KTM, he was seventeen hundredths of a second behind Migno at the end of the race.


Finally, it was confirmed on Tuesday (28/5/17), that Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider Jonas Folger will remain with the team till 2018 after signing a new one-year deal to remain with Tech 3.



Folger currently sits ninth in the championship, with a best finish of a sixth place finish from Argentina MotoGP round back in April. Folger will be partnered with Johann Zarco during the rest of the 2017 and 2018 MotoGP seasons at Monster Yamaha Tech 3.
