2017 WTCC Round 5 Recap - Race of Portugal

Review of Round Five of the 2017 World Touring Car Championship season was the was the Race of Portugal, on the Circuito Internacional de Vila Real, Vila Real, Portugal.

In the opening race, Sébastien Loeb Racing driver Mehdi Bennani took the race win in his Citroën C-Elysée WTCC and also took the WTCC Trophy win. Second was Castrol Honda World Touring Car Team driver Tiago Monteiro in his Honda Civic WTCC , he was eight tenths of a second behind Bennani in the end. While, third was Polestar Cyan Racing driver Thed Björk in his Volvo S60 Polestar TC1, he was sixteen tenths of a second behind Bennani in the end.



While in the main race, Castrol Honda World Touring Car Team driver Norbert Michelisz took the race win in his Honda Civic WTCC. Second was Polestar Cyan Racing driver Thed Björk in his Volvo S60 Polestar TC1, he was half a second behind Michelisz in the end. While, third was Castrol Honda World Touring Car Team driver Tiago Monteiro in his Honda Civic WTCC, he was two seconds behind Michelisz in the end.

Meanwhile in the WTCC Trophy, was won by ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport driver Rob Huff in his Citroën C-Elysée WTCC. He finished in fifth place overall and he was five seconds behind Michelisz in the end.



Next stop Race of Argentina at Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo for Round Six of the 2017 World Touring Car Championship season in three weeks time.
