It was confirmed on Wednesday (21/6/17), Monisha Kaltenborn has relinquished her position as Team Principal at Sauber, due to "diverging views of the future of the company", ahead of this weekend's Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
It emerged on Wednesday morning that Kaltenborn had parted company with Sauber, ending a long association with the Swiss outfit, having occupied the role of Team Principal since 2012, the former Team Principal of Sauber have agreed to part company by mutual consent.
No word who will replace Kaltenborn at Sauber for the rest of the season.
In my opinion, this is a surprising this news happen. Some big question marks ahead for Sauber for the short to mid term to the team. Who replaces Kaltenborn at Sauber? Will Honda power-units next season will be powerful and reliable enough to get the team back as a midfield team? At this moment of time, the team did score points in Spain a few weeks back, but will it be enough for the team to hold ninth place in the standings till the end of the season? Who knows. All we know its interesting times ahead for Sauber.
