2017 WRC Round 7 recap - Rally d'Italia Sardegna

Recap of the last round of WRC from this weekends Round Seven of of Rally d'Italia Sardegna.

Last weekends was the seventh round of the World Rally Championship at the Rally d'Italia Sardegna (9th-11th June), and was won by M-Sport World Rally Team driver Ott Tänak in his Ford Fiesta WRC for Tänak first WRC win.



While, Jari-Matti Latvala finished second in the works Toyota Yaris WRC, Latvala was twelve seconds behind Tänak at the end of the rally. Meanwhile, Thierry Neuville finished third in his works Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC, Thierry Neuville was sixty-seven seconds behind Tänak at the end of the rally.

While in the WRC Trophy (crews entering World Rally Cars used between 2011 and 2016), that was won by Yazeed Racing driver Yazeed Al Rajhi in his Ford Fiesta RS WRC. Yazeed Al Rajhi finished in thirteenth place overall, he was over eighteen minutes behind Tänak at the end of the rally.

Meanwhile in WRC-2 class (Group R5, R4, Super 2000 and Group N4 spec cars), that was won by Škoda Motorsport driver Jan Kopecký in his Škoda Fabia R5. Jan Kopecký finished in tenth place overall, he was over eleven minutes behind Tänak at the end of the rally.

While in WRC-3 class (Group R1, R2 and R3 cars) that was won by Nil Solans in his own backed Ford Fiesta R2T. Nil Solans finished in eighteenth place overall, he was thirty-five minutes behind Tänak at the end of the rally.

Next stop, Round Eight of the 2017 WRC season for Rally Poland in three weeks time.
