2017 Canadian Grand Prix Review

Review of the seventh round of the 2017 F1 season at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Montreal, for the Canadian Grand Prix.

Overall, a dominating race weekend for Mercedes, dominating in practice, dominating in qualifying, and most importantly dominating in the race for Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton. Lewis Hamilton was on pole for Sunday's race for his sixty-fifth pole position in Formula 1 equalling to Ayrton Senna's old record.



In a sunny and hot Canadian Grand Prix, Hamilton took the advantage at the start and comfortably lead the race throughout the race leading all seventy laps and the fastest lap of the race to conclude with a race win in this seasons Canadian Grand Prix for Lewis Hamilton's third race win of the season.



While, Hamilton's team-mate and Valtteri Bottas finished in second place in the other Mercedes to give the team its first one-two finish of the season, Bottas was twenty seconds behind Hamilton at the end.

Meanwhile, Daniel Ricciardo finished in third place in the Red Bull to complete the podium, Ricciardo was thirty-five seconds behind Hamilton at the end of the seventy lap race.



Finally, a quick mention to Lance Stroll in the Williams finishing ninth place giving Stroll his first points of the season at his home Grand Prix becoming the first Canadian to score points in Canada since 1996. Stroll was a lap behind Hamilton at the end.
