2022 WRC Round 6 recap - Safari Rally Kenya

Recap of the last round of WRC from this weekends Round Six of Safari Rally Kenya.

Last weekends was the sixth round of the World Rally Championship at the Safari Rally Kenya (23rd-26th June), that was won by Kalle Rovanperä in his works Toyota GR Yaris Rally1.



While, Elfyn Evans finished second in his works Toyota GR Yaris Rally1, Evans was fifty-three seconds behind Rovanperä at the end of the rally. Meanwhile, Takamoto Katsuta finished third in his works Toyota GR Yaris Rally1, Katsuta was one hundred seconds behind Rovanperä at the end of the rally. Finally, Current WRC Champion Sébastien Ogier finished fourth in his works Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 to complete a Toyota top four whitewash. Ogier was over two minutes behind Rovanperä at the end of the rally.

Meanwhile in WRC-2 class (Manufacturer entries competing in cars built to Rally2 specifications), that was won by Kajetan Kajetanowicz in his own backed Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo. Kajetan Kajetanowicz finished in ninth place overall, he was thrity-six minutes behind Rovanperä at the end of the rally.

While in WRC-3 class (Open to privately-entered cars; Rally3 spec cars), that was won by Maxine Wahome in her own backed Ford Fiesta Rally3. Maxine Wahome finished in seventeenth place overall, she was one hundred minutes behind Rovanperä at the end of the rally.

Next stop, Round Seven of the 2022 WRC season for Rally Estonia in three weeks time.
