2022 BTCC Round 5 Recap

Review of Round Five of the 2022 British Touring Car Championship season was at Croft, in North Yorkshire.

In the first race, Bristol Street Motors with Excelr8 TradePriceCars.com driver Daniel Lloyd took the race win in his Hyundai i30 Fastback N Performance. Second was Team BMW driver Colin Turkington in his BMW 330e M Sport, he was four tenths of a second behind Lloyd in the end. While third place was Halfords Racing with Cataclean driver Daniel Rowbottom in his Honda Civic Type R, he was seven tenths of a second behind Lloyd in the end.

Meanwhile, Independents class was won by Laser Tools Racing driver Aiden Moffat in his Infiniti Q50, he finished in eighth place and was four seconds behind Lloyd in the end.

While, Jack Sears Trophy (for drivers yet to record an overall podium finish or won outright the Jack Sears Trophy championship) was won by Car Gods with Ciceley Motorsport driver George Gamble in his BMW 330e M Sport, he finished in ninth place and was four and half seconds behind Lloydin the end.



Meanwhile in the second race, Bristol Street Motors with Excelr8 TradePriceCars.com driver Daniel Lloyd took the race win in his Hyundai i30 Fastback N Performance. Second was Bristol Street Motors with Excelr8 TradePriceCars.com driver Tom Ingram in his Hyundai i30 Fastback N Performance, he was sixth tenths of a second behind Lloyd in the end. While third place was Team BMW driver Colin Turkington in his BMW 330e M Sport, he was eleven tenths of a second behind Lloyd in the end.

Meanwhile, Independents class was won by Laser Tools Racing driver Aiden Moffat in his Infiniti Q50, he finished in eighth place and was ten seconds behind Lloyd in the end.

While, Jack Sears Trophy was won by Autobrite Direct with JourneyHero driver Bobby Thompson in his Cupra León, he finished in fourteenth place and was fifteen seconds behind Lloyd in the end.



Finally in the third race, Halfords Racing with Cataclean driver Gordon Shedden took the race win in his Honda Civic Type R. Second was Rich Energy BTC Racing driver driver Josh Cook in his Honda Civic Type R and also took Independents class win, he was two and half seconds behind Shedden in the end. While third place was Toyota Gazoo Racing UK driver Rory Butcher in his Toyota Corolla GR Sport, he was three seconds behind Shedden in the end.

While, Jack Sears Trophy was won by Autobrite Direct with JourneyHero driver Bobby Thompson in his Cupra León, he finished in twelfth place and was fifteen seconds behind Shedden in the end.



Next stop Knockhill Racing Circuit for Round Five of the 2022 British Touring Car Championship season in five weeks time.
