2020 BTCC Round 5 Recap

Review of Round Five of the 2020 British Touring Car Championship season was at Thruxton, in Hampshire.

In the first race, Toyota Gazoo Racing UK with Ginsters driver Tom Ingram took the race win in his Toyota Corolla. Second was Halfords Yuasa Racing driver Dan Cammish in his Honda Civic Type R (FK8), he was six tenths of a second behind Ingram in the end. While third place was Halfords Yuasa Racing driver Matt Neal in his Honda Civic Type R (FK8), he was eight and half seconds behind Ingram in the end.

Meanwhile, Independents class was won by Carlube TripleR Racing with Mac Tools driver Adam Morgan in his Mercedes-Benz A-Class, he finished in fourth place and was nine seconds behind Ingram in the end.

While, Jack Sears Trophy (for drivers yet to record an overall podium finish or won outright the Jack Sears Trophy championship) was won by The Clever Baggers with BTC Racing driver Michael Crees in his Honda Civic Type R (FK8), he finished in tenth place and was twenty-two seconds behind Ingram in the end.

Meanwhile, Independents class was won by Laser Tools Racing driver Ash Sutton in his Infiniti Q50, he finished in fourth place and was eight seconds behind Ingram in the end.

While, Jack Sears Trophy was won by The Clever Baggers with BTC Racing driver Michael Crees in his Honda Civic Type R (FK8), he finished in ninth place and was twelve seconds behind Ingram in the end.


Finally in the third race, BTC Racing driver Josh Cook took the race win in his Honda Civic Type R (FK8) and also took Independents class win as-well. Second was BTC Racing driver Tom Chilton in his Honda Civic Type R (FK8), he was three and half seconds behind Cook in the end. While third place was Motorbase Performance driver Rory Butcher in his Ford Focus ST Mk.IV, he was four and half seconds behind Cook in the end.

While, Jack Sears Trophy was won by GKR TradePriceCars.com driver Bobby Thompson in his Audi S3 Saloon, he finished in fifteenth place and was eighteen seconds behind Cook in the end.


Next stop Silverstone for Round Six of the 2020 British Touring Car Championship season in a weeks time.
