Nicky Hayden remains 'very critical, clinical picture unchanged'

Former MotoGP champion Nicky Hayden remains in a "very critical" condition in hospital in Italy, following his cycle accident on Wednesday.

Hayden, who claimed the MotoGP championship back in 2006, was struck by a car while out riding and was transferred to Bufalini Hospital in Cesena.

On Thursday, an update confirmed that Hayden had suffered "a serious polytrauma with subsequent serious cerebral damage" following the accident.

His Honda World Superbike team Red Bull Honda posted the latest on social media on Sunday, confirming that "Nicky Hayden's condition remains very critical and the clinical picture is unchanged".
