2017 Indy 500 Post Review

The 2017 Indy 500 Post Review.

This years Indianapolis 500 is the 101st running of the race. The winner was a surprising one as it was none other than former Jordan F1 driver Takuma Sato. Becoming the first Japanese driver to win the Indy 500.



The Andretti Autosport driver took the lead for the final time with five laps to go overtaking Helio Castroneves, to win his first Indy 500 race.

Meanwhile second was Team Penske driver Hélio Castroneves, he was two tenths of a second behind Sato in the end. Third place was Dale Coyne Racing driver Ed Jones, he was half a second behind Sato in the end. Fourth place was his Chip Ganassi Racing driver Max Chilton, he was a second behind Sato in the end.

Meanwhile, McLaren F1 driver Fernando Alonso did not finish on his debut for the Indy 500 with McLaren-Honda-Andretti. Despite leading the race couple of times throughout the 500 race, his Honda engine failed on him with engine problems while in contention to win with 21 laps remaining.
