2016 WTCC Round 4 Recap - Race of Morocco

Review of Round Four of the 2016 World Touring Car Championship season was the Race of Morocco, on the Circuit International Automobile Moulay El Hassan in Marrakech, Morocco.

In the first race, ROAL Motorsport driver Tom Coronel took the race win in his Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1 and also took Independents class win. Second was Citroën Total WTCC driver and current WTCC Champion José María López in his Citroën C-Elysée WTCC, he was three tenths of a second behind Coronel in the end. While third was Citroën Total WTCC driver Yvan Muller in his Citroën C-Elysée WTCC, he was two seconds behind Coronel in the end.



While in the second race, Castrol Honda World Touring Car Team driver Robert Huff took the race win in his Honda Civic WTCC. Second was Honda Racing Team JAS driver Norbert Michelisz in his Honda Civic WTCC, he was half a second behind Huff in the end. While third place was Castrol Honda World Touring Car Team driver Tiago Monteiro in his Honda Civic WTCC to complete a Honda podium whitewash finish, he was a second behind Huff in the end.

Meanwhile in the Independent Class, was won by Sébastien Loeb Racing driver Mehdi Bennani in his Citroën C-Elysée WTCC. He finished in eighth place overall and he was thirty-six seconds behind Huff in the end.



Next stop Race of Germany at the Nürburgring Nordschleife for Round Five of the 2016 World Touring Car Championship season in three weeks time.
