Review of Round Three of the 2016 World Rallycross Championship season was the World RX of Belgium, at Circuit Jules Tacheny Mettet, Mettet, in South-West Belgium.
In the four Heats, those were won by Sébastien Loeb, Mattias Ekström (winning twice), and current World Rallycross Champion Petter Solberg.
In the first semi-final that was won by EKS RX driver Mattias Ekström in his Audi S1. Second was Team Peugeot-Hansen driver Sébastien Loeb in his Peugeot 208, he was two seconds behind Ekström in the end. While, third was Ecurie Bayard ASBL driver François Duval in his Ford Fiesta ST, he was eight seconds behind Ekström in the end.
In the second semi-final that was won by Petter Solberg World RX Team driver and current World Rallycross Champion Petter Solberg in his Citroën DS3. Second was Volkswagen RX Sweden driver Johan Kristoffersson in his Volkswagen Polo, he was a second behind Solberg in the end. While, third was Volkswagen RX Sweden driver Anton Marklund in his Volkswagen Polo, he was five seconds behind Solberg in the end.
In the final race, EKS RX driver Mattias Ekström took the race win in his Audi S1. Team Peugeot-Hansen driver Sébastien Loeb in his Peugeot 208, he was two and half seconds behind Ekström in the end. While, third was Petter Solberg World RX Team driver and current World Rallycross Champion Petter Solberg in his Citroën DS3, he was three seconds behind Ekström in the end.
Next stop World RX of Great Britain at Lydden Hill Race Circuit for Round Four of the 2016 World Rallycross Championship season in two weeks time.
