2016 Monaco Grand Prix Review

Review of the sixth round of the 2016 F1 season on the streets of Monte Carlo, for the Monaco Grand Prix.

Overall, in an entertaining race where it was a wet to dry race, Daniel Ricciardo took the lead at the start at a wet Monaco Grand Prix with Nico Rosberg behind him, until lap 17 when F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton overtake team-mate Nico Rosberg for second. Lap 23, Ricciardo pitted for intermediates while Hamilton stayed on Wets and went into the lead with a drying track. Then on Lap 30 pitted for ultra-soft dry tyres with Ricciardo retaking the lead.

Then on lap 32, Ricciardo pitted for super-soft dry tyres but Red Bull did not have his Super Soft rubber prepared and he lost a chunk of time and costing him the lead and the win itself, as Hamilton retake the lead. Despite on fresher tyres Ricciardo could not overtake Hamilton. And with Hamilton didn't need to pit again for tyres, Hamilton take the perfect gamble with tyres to conclude with Lewis Hamilton winning this seasons Monaco Grand Prix for his first race win of the season for the Formula 1 World Champion.

While, Daniel Ricciardo finished in second place in the Red Bull, Ricciardo was seven seconds behind Hamilton at the end.

Meanwhile, Sergio Pérez finished in third place in the Force India to complete the podium, Pérez was fourteen seconds behind Hamilton at the end of the seventy-eight lap race.
