WRC Round 8 recap

Last weekend was round eight of the World Rally Championship at Rally Finland (1st-3rd August) was won by Sébastien Ogier in the works Volkswagen Polo R WRC, to win the rally overall. While, Thierry Neuville finished in second place in the Qatar World Rally Team, Ford Fiesta RS WRC. Neuville was 36 seconds behind Ogier at the end. Meanwhile, Mads Østberg finished in third place in the Qatar M-Sport World Rally Team, Ford Fiesta RS WRC. Østberg was 57 seconds behind Ogier at the end of the rally.

Meanwhile in WRC-2 class (Group R5, R4, Super 2000 and Group N4 spec cars), that was won by Jari Ketomaa in his DMACK-Autotek backed Ford Fiesta R5 (which, its won on it's rally debut). Jari Ketomaa finished in seventh place overall, he was 11 minutes behind Ogier at the end of the rally.

Meanwhile, Robert Kubica in his Citroën backed Citroën DS3 RCC. finished second in WRC-2 class and finished in ninth place overall and two points in the main standings as-well, he was under 13 minutes behind Ogier at the end of the rally and his first time outing on Rally Finland.



While in WRC-3 class (Group R1, R2 and R3 cars) that was won by Keith Cronin in Charles Hurst Citroën Belfast team in their Citroën DS3 R3T. Keith Cronin finished in twenty-first place overall, he was nearly 23 and a half minutes behind Ogier at the end of the rally.
