A what if theory in silly season for the 2014 season

Last year, I did a similar post for the 2013 F1 season. Were, I predicted that Lewis Hamilton will goto Mercedes, and Sergio Perez will goto McLaren this season. Which did happen at the end.

So, this post will be more what if theories on silly season than rumours which usually happens at this part of the season. The last few weeks what has been written on the internet that rumours of Kimi Raikkonen could be on the verge of leaving Lotus to drive for Red Bull next season. But, three days ago there is a strong possibility that Toro Rosso driver Daniel Ricciardo will be Sebastian Vettel team-mate instead of Kimi Raikkonen.

And so here's my theory, the word in this paragraph 'what if' comes up a few times. So here goes, what if Daniel Ricciardo does sign for Red Bull in 2014. What if Kimi Raikkonen stays at Lotus for the 2014 season. What if Felipe Massa leaves Ferrari at the end of the season.

And all what if does happen above who do you put as team-mate to Fernando Alonso at Ferrari for 2014? Jules Bianchi, Nico Hülkenberg or Kimi Raikkonen perhaps. And so here's my theory, this is not a rumour haven't heard of it, but he has been mention for the seat. And the second driver for Ferrari could be in my opinion Paul di Resta.

So why? for starters why not Jules Bianchi, Nico Hülkenberg or Kimi Raikkonen. To start with the first of the list, why not Jules Bianchi? despite he his a Ferrari development driver, driving for Marussia this season in his debut season in Formula one. It would be the same reason as Sergio Perez didn't get the seat at Ferrari this season, and that would be 'too early' to be considered for a drive at Ferrari with only one seasons experience in a Formula one car.

So why not Kimi Raikkonen? been a Ferrari driver between 2007 and 2009, took Ferrari to a driver's title in his debut year in 2007. But, Kimi Raikkonen was very unmotivated at Ferrari in 2009, which concluded Ferrari letting him go with a year left on his contract and replace him with Fernando Alonso as their number one driver.

So why not Nico Hülkenberg? yes he is fast driver, lead last seasons Brazilian Grand Prix in a Force India. But, I got a hunch that Ferrari will not pick him, he might go instead to Lotus and be Kimi Raikkonen team-mate instead for 2014, similar to Giancarlo Fisichella, in 2004 went to Sauber for a season and then a season later went to Renault to team up with Fernando Alonso. Also, I believe are looking more of a number two driver to Fernando Alonso then a number one driver and the better option would be Paul di Resta.

You have to remember that Paul di Resta looks much more of a better driver from two seasons ago in his debut, were he come from winning the DTM series. And a few seasons before that beating Sebastian Vettel in Euroseries Formula 3. Also, I feel that Paul di Resta should have got the Mercedes drive this season if Lewis Hamilton stayed at McLaren this season. But, would he be a Ferrari driver next season? I would like to see it> But, I doubt it would happen.

This post is theory not about rumours, this post has been much more about thinking writing this up. New post soon. Bye.
