F1 to race at Losail for the 2021 Qatar Grand Prix, returns to the calander for the 2023 and onwards

It has been confirmed yesterday (30/9/21), Losail International Circuit will host the Qatar Grand Prix later in the season replacing the Australian Grand Prix on November 21st. While the race will return in 2023 (the race won't happen in 2022 due to Qatar's hosting the World Cup) on a new purpose-built circuit till the end of 2032.



The 2021 race will be a Night race at Losail International Circuit, Lusail. Which the circuit is more associated staging MotoGP races; will stage its debut Grand Prix on 21st November the twentieth round of the season.



It will be the fourth Formula 1 event in the Middle East, following on from Bahrain, Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia, which joined the calendar in 2004, 2009 and 2021 respectively.

The race replaces the Australian Grand Prix due to Covid-19 restrictions in the country before being cancelled.

Coronavirus, officially named Covid-19, that has killed nearly 4,800,000 people, with over 230,000,000, cases reported.
