Top Six longest winning drought by a team in Formula 1

In the recent Grand Prix at Monza, Daniel Ricciardo won the race and McLaren's first win for one hundred and seventy-one Grand Prixs'. So this post is the Top Six longest winning drought by a team in Formula 1! rules are simple for this any team can count, even in a previous time-line can count. It must be in their own time-line. We not counting Team Lotus/Lotus F1 Team for example that is two different teams and two different time-lines.



Starting with number 6:

Number 6: McLaren, 2012 Brazilian Grand Prix - 2021 Italian Grand Prix (9 seasons)
Story:
McLaren's last win before that came at the 2012 Brazilian Grand Prix when Jenson Button won the race. Nine seasons and one hundred and seventy-one Grand Prixs' later, McLaren won the 2021 Italian Grand Prix with Daniel Ricciardo.





Number 5: Stewart/Jaguar/Red Bull, 1999 European Grand Prix - 2009 Chinese Grand Prix (10 seasons)
Story:
With Johnny Herbert winning the 1999 European Grand Prix in the Stewart, it took the team to win their next Grand Prix ten seasons and one hundred and sixty-two Grand Prixs' later to do it. With include selling the team to Ford in the middle of 1999 and re-branding it as Jagaur in 2000 and then selling the team to Red Bull in late 2004 and re-branding it as Red Bull Racing in 2005 to win the 2009 Chinese Grand Prix with Sebastian Vettel behind the wheel.




Number 4: Toro Rosso/AlphaTuari, 2008 Italian Grand Prix - 2020 Italian Grand Prix (12 seasons)
Story:
With Sebastian Vettel winning the 2008 Italian Grand Prix in the Toro Rosso, it took the team (and a team re-brand to AlphaTuari) to to win their next Grand Prix twelve seasons and two hundred and twenty-seven Grand Prixs' later back at Monza for Pierre Gasly to win the 2020 Italian Grand Prix.





Number 3: Ligier, 1981 Canadian Grand Prix - 1996 Monaco Grand Prix (15 seasons)
Story:
With Jacques Laffite winning the 1981 Canadian Grand Prix in the Ligier, it took the team to to win their next Grand Prix fifteen seasons and two hundred and thirty-four Grand Prixs' later to win the 1996 Monaco Grand Prix with Olivier Panis behind the wheel.





Number 2: Jordan/Midland/Spyker/Force India/Racing Point 2003 Brazilian Grand Prix - 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix (18 seasons)
Story:
With Giancarlo Fisichella winning the 2003 Brazilian Grand Prix in the Jordan, it took the team to win their next Grand Prix eighteen seasons and three hundred and thirty-four Grand Prixs' later to do it. With include selling the team to the Midland Group at the start of 2005 and re-branding it as Midland in 2006 and then selling the team to Spyker at the end of 2006 and re-branding it as Spyker in 2007; then selling the team to Vijay Mallya at the end of 2007 and re-branding it as Force India in 2008, and then the team went into administration in the middle of 2018 bought by Lawrence Stroll re-branding it to Racing Point in 2019 to win the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix with Sergio Pérez behind the wheel. Now the team is re-branded to Aston Martin in 2021.





Number 1: Tyrrell/B.A.R./Honda Racing, 1983 Detroit Grand Prix - 2006 Hungarian Grand Prix (23 seasons)
Story:
With Michele Alboreto winning the 1983 Detroit Grand Prix in the Tyrrell, it took the team to win their next Grand Prix eighteen seasons and three hundred and thirty-four Grand Prixs' later to do it. With include selling the team to BAT in late 1997 and re-branding it as B.A.R in 1999 and then selling the team to Honda at the start of 2005 and re-branding it as Honda Racing in 2006 to win the 2006 Hungarian Grand Prix with Jenson Button behind the wheel. Honda sold the team to Ross Brawn and Nick Fry in 2009 re-branding as Brawn. Then in late 2009 Mercedes bought the team, now the team is re-branding to Mercedes in 2010 as they are currently now.
