2021 Russian Grand Prix Review, Sir Lewis Hamilton 100th Grand Prix Win!

Review of the fifteenth round of the 2021 F1 season at Sochi Autodrom, in Sochi for the Russian Grand Prix.

Overall, the race itself was entertaining race to watch. Lando Norris took a surprise pole for Sunday's race. On a cloudy Russian Grand Prix, Norris took the lead at the start of the race until the first corner when Carlos Sainz, Jr. overtook him for the lead of the race. Norris took the lead back on lap 13.

Norris was set to win his first win, until the closing laps of the race, when rain began to fall, resulting in many of the drivers pitting for intermediate tyres, including Sir Lewis Hamilton, who was in second place behind Norris on lap 49, with Norris not pitting for tyres. The gamble backfired; on lap 51, Norris aquaplaned at turn 5, allowing Hamilton to take the lead and stayed there to win this seasons Russian Grand Prix for Sir Lewis Hamilton's fifth Grand Prix win of the season and Hamilton's one hundredth Grand Prix win in his F1 career becoming the first driver to achieve over one hundred wins in doing so.

While, Max Verstappen finished in second place in the Red Bull despite starting from the back of the grid after an power-unit change before qualifying, Verstappen was fifty-three seconds behind Hamilton at the end.

Meanwhile, Carlos Sainz, Jr. finished in third place in the other Ferrari to complete the podium, Sainz, Jr. was sixty-two seconds behind Hamilton at the end of the fifty-three lap race.

Now with seven races to go, Sir Lewis Hamilton win in Sochi and Max Verstappen only managing a second place finish, Lewis Hamilton's retake the lead of the F1 Drivers' Standings has been reduce from five points behind to two points ahead of Max Verstappen in the standings with seven races to go.

While Mercedes still leads F1 Constructors' Standings, the gap is now improved from eighteen points to thirty-three points for Red Bull who are second in the Constructors' Standings with seven races to go.
