To Celebrate Kimi Räikkönen's 40th Birthday, this post is the top six best Kimi Räikkönen F1 drives of all time. There were so many races to choose from, if there any races I have missed this is only my opinion folks.
Starting with number 6:
Number 6: 2012 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
Story: It was Räikkönen first season after two years away from Formula 1. By the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Räikkönen didn't lost none the magic, Räikkönen started in fourth place and went up to second place behind Lewis Hamilton, by lap 19 Hamilton retired with fuel pressure problems in his McLaren. Räikkonen took the lead which conclude with a race win at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to give Räikkonen his first win since the 2009 Belgian Grand Prix.
Number 5: 2007 Australian Grand Prix
Story: Räikkönen replace Michael Schumacher at Ferrari for the 2007 season. For his first race at Ferrari in Australia, Kimi Räikkönen made replacing Michael Schumacher quite easy. Räikkönen on pole and never looked back, despite a small water leak towards the end, Räikkönen won the Australian Grand Prix and also the first time a driver had won on their first race for Ferrari since Nigel Mansell in 1989.
Number 4: 2018 United States Grand Prix
Story: Räikkönen started in third place. At the start of the race, Kimi Räikkönen had the better start and took the lead and took a strong lead over Lewis Hamilton. By lap 11, Hamilton went to pit for tyres while Räikkönen stayed out in the lead. By lap 21 Räikkönen pitted for his only pit stop of the race while Hamilton took the lead. Until lap 38 Hamilton pitted for his second set of new tyres, in-which Räikkönen took the lead while Hamilton return to the track in third place. In the end Hamilton couldn't overtake Räikkönen giving Kimi Räikkönen his first race win since Australia 2013 at the age of 39.
Number 3: 2006 Bahrain Grand Prix
Story: Räikkönen started in twenty-second place after suffered a right rear suspension failure during his first timed lap in qualifying. In hot and dry Bahrain Grand Prix, he had nothing to lose and everything to gain in this race show us an overtaking master-class, by the first lap Räikkönen was thirteenth ans overtaking ten drivers after the first lap till the end. Räikkönen only pitted for once in the race, Räikkönen came home in third place, if Räikkönen strated higher he might have won that seasons Bahrain Grand Prix.
Number 2: 2003 Malaysian Grand Prix
Story: Räikkönen started in seventh place with a heavy 2002 McLaren pitting for fuel and tyres by lap 19, by lap 14 Räikkönen was leading the race. Räikkönen pitted on lap 19 and retook the lead on lap 23 after Rubens Barrichello pitting for fuel and tyres and never looked back to win the 2003 Malaysian Grand Prix for Kimi Räikkönen's first Grand Prix win winning it by 40 seconds ahead of Rubens Barrichello in the Ferrari.
Number 1: 2005 Japanese Grand Prix
Story: Räikkönen started in seventeenth place after mixed conditions in qualifying in-which Räikkönen did his qualifying time in the rain. In a dry Japanese Grand Prix, he had nothing to lose and everything to gain in this race show us an overtaking master-class, by the first lap Räikkönen was twelfth, the next fifty-one laps Räikkönen overtaking the likes of Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso, and Jenson Button. By the start of lap 53 and last lap Räikkönen overtake Giancarlo Fisichella on the the outside of turn 1 to win the Japanese Grand Prix.
To give the 2005 Japanese Grand Prix the best Kimi Räikkönen his greatest drive in Formula 1. Happy 40th Birthday Kimi Räikkönen.
