Recap of the last round of WRC from last weekends Round twelve of Wales Rally GB.
Last weekend was the twelfth round of the 2018 World Rally Championship at Wales Rally GB (3rd-6th October), that was won by Ott Tänak in his works Toyota Yaris WRC.
While, Thierry Neuville finished second in the works Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC. Neuville was eleven seconds behind Tänak at the end of the rally. Meanwhile, Current WRC champion Sébastien Ogier finished third in the works Citroën C3 WRC. Ogier was twenty-four seconds behind Tänak at the end of the rally.
Meanwhile in WRC-2 Pro class (Manufacturer entries competing in cars built to Group R5 specifications), that was won by Škoda Motorsport driver Kalle Rovanperä in his Škoda Fabia R5 Evo. Kalle Rovanperä finished in ninth place overall, he was eleven minutes behind Tänak at the end of the rally. That was enough to give Kalle Rovanperä the 2019 WRC-2 Pro Championship with two rounds to spare in his Škoda Fabia R5 Evo; contracts to Kalle Rovanperä for winning this years WRC-2 Pro Championship.
While in WRC-2 class (Open to privately-entered cars; Group R5, R4, Super 2000 and Group N4 spec cars), that was won by Petter Solberg in his own backed Volkswagen Polo GTI R5 in his final WRC rally from the 2003 WRC Champion. Petter Solberg finished in tenth place overall, he was twelve minutes behind Tänak at the end of the rally.
Meanwhile in Junior-WRC class (Competing in identical one-litre Ford Fiesta R2s built and maintained by M-Sport) that was won by Jan Solans. Jan Solans finished in twenty-first place overall, he was thirty minutes behind Tänak at the end of the rally. With that result, Jan Solans did clinched the Junior-WRC Championship this season, contracts to Jan Solans for winning the Junior-WRC championship.
