2019 Japanese MotoGP Review, Takaaki Nakagami remains at LCR Honda for 2020

Review of round sixteen of the 2019 MotoGP season at Twin Ring Motegi, Motegi, Tochigi for the Japanese GP.

In the MotoGP race (V-twin, V4, or Inline-four 1000cc four stroke class), that was won by Repsol Honda Team rider and current MotoGP champion Marc Marquez on his works Honda RC213V.



Second was Petronas Yamaha SRT rider Fabio Quartararo on his Yamaha YZR-M1, he was nine tenths of a second behind Marquez at the end.



While, third was Ducati Team rider Andrea Dovizioso on his works Ducati Desmosedici GP19, he was thirteen tenths of a second behind Márquez at the end of the race.



In the Moto2 race (Inline-three 765cc four-stroke class), that race was won by SKY Racing Team VR46 rider Luca Marini on the Kalex. Second was Dynavolt Intact GP rider Thomas Lüthi on the Kalex, he was six tenths of a second behind Marini at the end. While, third was Red Bull KTM Ajo rider and current Moto3 champion Jorge Martín on the KTM, he was three and half seconds behind Marini at the end.

While in the Moto3 race (single-cylinder 250 cc four-stroke class), that race was won by Leopard Racing rider Lorenzo Dalla Porta on the Honda. Second was Gaviota Ángel Nieto Team rider Albert Arenas on the KTM, he was a tenth of a second behind Dalla Porta at the end. While, third was SKY Racing Team VR46 rider Celestino Vietti on the KTM, he was two tenths of a second behind Dalla Porta at the end.

Finally, it was confirmed on Tuesday (15/10/19), Takaaki Nakagami has signed a new one-year deal with that will see him continue to compete with the LCR Honda team in MotoGP for 2020 alongside Cal Crutchlow.



Nakagami currently sits twelfth place in the championship, with a best finish of fifth place at Italy back in June.
