2019 DTM Round 9 Recap

Review of Round Nine and the final round of the 2019 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters season was held at was held at the Hockenheimring, Hockenheim, in South-West Germany.

On Saturday's race, Audi Sport Team Rosberg driver and Current DTM Champion René Rast took the race win in his Audi RS5 Turbo DTM. Second was BMW Team RMG driver Marco Wittmann in his BMW M4 Turbo DTM, he was two seconds behind Rast in the end. While, third place was Audi Sport Team Phoenix driver Mike Rockenfeller in his Audi RS5 Turbo DTM, he was eleven seconds behind Rast in the end.


Special mention to former Brawn and McLaren F1 driver and 2009 F1 Champion Jenson Button, who made a wild card appearance in this round in a Super GT spec Honda NSX-GT GT500 to finish in ninth place, he was thirty-one seconds behind Rast in the end.



On Sunday's race, Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline driver Nico Müller took the race win in his Audi RS5 Turbo DTM. Second was Audi Sport Team Phoenix driver Mike Rockenfeller in his Audi RS5 Turbo DTM, he was four seconds behind Müller in the end. While, third place was Audi Sport Team Rosberg driver and Current DTM Champion René Rast in his Audi RS5 Turbo DTM to complete an Audi podium whitewash, he was eight seconds behind Müller in the end.



And so, this years champions, René Rast took the DTM Drivers' Championship. Audi Sport Team Rosberg took the DTM Teams' Championship and Aldi took the DTM Manufacturers' Championship.



That's the end of 2019 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters season. Contracts to the Champions in DTM this season. And now for the 2020 Season.
