2018 Japanese MotoGP Review, Rider News and Marc Márquez 2018 MotoGP Champion!

Review of round sixteen of the 2018 MotoGP season at Twin Ring Motegi, Motegi, Tochigi for the Japanese GP.

In the MotoGP race (V-twin, V4, or Inline-four 1000cc four stroke class), that was won by Repsol Honda Team rider and current MotoGP champion Marc Marquez on his works Honda RC213V.

First place was enough to give Marc Márquez the 2018 MotoGP title, and his fifth title in the premier class, Marc Márquez is 102 points ahead of Andrea Dovizioso in the standings with three races to go. Contracts to Marc Márquez for winning the MotoGP championship.



Second was LCR Honda rider Cal Crutchlow in his Honda RC213V, he was twelve tenths of a second behind Márquez at the end.



While, third was Team Suzuki Ecstar rider Álex Rins on his works Suzuki GSX-RR, he was fifteen tenths of a second behind Márquez at the end of the race.



In the Moto2 race (Inline-four 600 cc four-stroke class), that race was won by Beta Tools - Speed Up Racing rider Fabio Quartararo on the Speed Up. However, he was later disqualified due to a technical infringement. Therefore Sky Racing Team VR46 rider Francesco Bagnaia took the race win on the Kalex.



Second was Pons HP40 rider Lorenzo Baldassarri on the Kalex, he was six seconds behind Bagnaia at the end. While, third was Red Bull KTM Ajo rider Miguel Oliveira on the KTM, he was eleven and half seconds behind Bagnaia at the end of the race.

While in the Moto3 race (single-cylinder 250 cc four-stroke class), that race was won by Redox PrüstelGP rider Marco Bezzecchi on the KTM. Second was Leopard Racing rider Lorenzo Dalla Porta on the Honda, he was forty-one thousandth of a second behind Bezzecchi at the end of the race. While, third was Red Bull KTM Ajo rider Darryn Binder on the KTM, he was forty-two thousandth of a second behind Bezzecchi at the end of the race.

Finally, it was confirmed on Tuesday (16/10/18), Takaaki Nakagami has signed a new one-year deal with that will see him continue to compete with the LCR Honda team in MotoGP for 2019 alongside Cal Crutchlow.



Nakagami currently sits twentieth place in the championship, with a best finish of two twelfth place finishes.

Finally, it was confirmed on Saturday (20/10/18) Reale Avintia Racing rider Xavier Siméon will race in MotoE next season with the Avintia Racing team.



Siméon currently sits twenty-eighth place in the MotoGP Standings, with a best finish of sixteenth place in Motegi from last weekend race.
