Confirmed: Red Bull retains Max Verstappen till 2020

It was confirmed before practice start at the United States Grand Prix (20/10/17) that Red Bull will retain Max Verstappen through to the end of the 2020 Formula 1 season and alongside Daniel Ricciardo for the 2018 F1 season.

Verstappen's current Red Bull deal was set to expire at the end of the 2018 season despite been linked to Mercedes and Ferrari for 2019, when the driver market will open up, but has opted to sign a new deal with Red Bull covering the next three seasons.

Verstappen joined Red Bull from Toro Rosso in May 2016 replacing Daniil Kvyat, winning on his team debut at the Spanish Grand Prix. With a best finish of a Grand Prix win at Malaysia so far this season.

Overall, a very good decision from Red Bull to keep Max Verstappen for next three seasons. Although, the only thing that could go wrong would be what power-unit will Red Bull use 2019 and onwards with rumours that Renault will not supply the team after 2018 season? is there a contract clause for Verstappen if the car is rubbish going into 2019? can Verstappen win the Drivers' Title with Red Bull in the next three seasons? time will tell. It's a very good deal for Red Bull for the next three seasons.
