Review of the round seven of the 2014 MotoGP season at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, in the outskirts of Barcelona, Catalonia, in Spain.
In the MotoGP race (V-twin, V4, or Inline-four 1000cc four stroke class), that was won by Repsol Honda Team rider and current MotoGP champion Marc Márquez on his works Honda RC213V. Second place was the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP rider Valentino Rossi on his works Yamaha YZR-M1, he was half a second behind Márquez at the end. While, the other Repsol Honda Team rider Dani Pedrosa on his works Honda RC213V, he was two seconds behind Márquez at the end.
In Open class (Full control ECU system, hardware and software), NGM Forward Racing rider Aleix Espargaró won Open class and finished sixth overall on his FTR-Yamaha YZR-M1, he was 14 seconds behind Márquez at the end.
In the Moto2 race (Inline-four 600 cc four-stroke class), that race was won by Marc VDS Racing Team rider of Esteve Rabat on the Kalex. Second was Pons HP 40 rider of Maverick Viñales on the Kalex, he was four seconds behind Rabat at the end of the race. While, third was Caterham Moto Racing rider of Johann Zarco on the Caterham Suter, he was eleven seconds behind Rabat at the end of the race.
While in the Moto3 race (single-cylinder 250 cc four-stroke class), that race was won by Estrella Galicia rider and current MotoGP champion Marc Márquez younger brother Álex Márquez on the Honda for his first Moto3 win. Second was Junior Team GO&FUN Moto3 rider Enea Bastianini on the KTM, he was over three seconds behind Márquez at the end of the race. While, third was SaxoPrint–RTG rider Efrén Vázquez on the Honda, he was three and a half seconds behind Márquez at the end of the race.
