Recap of the last round of WRC from this weekends Round Eight of of Rally d'Italia Sardegna.
Last weekend was the eighth round of the World Rally Championship at the Rally d'Italia Sardegna (13th-16th June), and was won by that was won by Dani Sordo in his works Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC.
While, Teemu Suninen finished second in his works Ford Fiesta WRC, Suninen was fourteen seconds behind Sordo at the end. Meanwhile, Andreas Mikkelsen finished third in his works Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC, Mikkelsen was thirty-two seconds behind Sordo at the end of the rally.
Meanwhile in WRC-2 Pro class (Manufacturer entries competing in cars built to Group R5 specifications), that was won by Škoda Motorsport driver Kalle Rovanperä in his Škoda Fabia R5. Kalle Rovanperä finished in ninth place overall, he was eight minutes behind Sordo at the end of the rally.
While in WRC-2 class (Open to privately-entered cars; Group R5, R4, Super 2000 and Group N4 spec cars), that was won by Pierre-Louis Loubet in his own backed Škoda Fabia R5. Pierre-Louis Loubet finished in eleventh place overall, he was eleven minutes behind Sordo at the end of the rally.
Meanwhile in Junior-WRC class (Competing in identical one-litre Ford Fiesta R2s built and maintained by M-Sport) that was won by Jan Solans. Jan Solans finished in twenty-first place overall, he was thirty minutes behind Sordo at the end of the rally.
Next stop, Round Nine of the 2019 WRC season for Rally Finland in seven weeks time.
