2018 WTCR Round 5 Recap - Race of Portugal

Review of Round Five of the 2018 World Touring Car Cup season was the Race of Portugal, on the Circuito Internacional de Vila Real, Vila Real, Portugal.

In the first race, M Racing YMR driver Yvan Muller took the race win in his Hyundai i30 N TCR. Second was YMR driver ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport driver Esteban Guerrieri in his Honda Civic Type R TCR (FK8), he was two seconds behind Muller in the end. While third place was Team Oscaro by Campos Racing driver Pepe Oriola in his CUPRA León TCR, he was ten seconds behind Muller in the end.



Meanwhile in the second race, DG Sport Compétition driver Aurélien Comte took the race win in his Peugeot 308 TCR. Second was M Racing YMR driver Yvan Muller in his Hyundai i30 N TCR, he was seven tenths of a second behind Comte in the end. While third place was Team Oscaro by Campos Racing driver Pepe Oriola in his CUPRA León TCR, he was two seconds behind Comte in the end



Finally in the third race, M Racing YMR driver Thed Björk took the race win in his Hyundai i30 N TCR. Second was BRC Racing Team driver Norbert Michelisz in his Hyundai i30 N TCR, he was three seconds behind Björk in the end. While third place was BRC Racing Team driver Gabriele Tarquini in his Hyundai i30 N TCR to complete a Hyundai podium whitewash, he was three and half seconds behind Björk in the end.



Next stop Race of Slovakia at Automotodróm Slovakia Ring for Round Six of the 2018 World Touring Car Cup season in three weeks time.
