Chaparral 2X Concept Race Car

Back in 2010, Gran Turismo 5 came out, and one of the cars that came out was a concept race car that Gran Turismo Series Producer Kazunori Yamauchi, and Red Bull Racing Chief Technical Officer, Adrian Newey produced called the Red Bull X2010, dubbed as "the future of racing were we not bound by regulations".

Influence by fan based race cars such as the Chaparral 2J and Brabham BT46B of the past. The X2010 is a 1483bhp gas powered concept car that goes over 410 kph (over 254 mph), and a maximum lateral G-force of 6G. And goes around the Nurburgring Grand Prix track in 1'04.853!

Last year, Gran Turismo 6 came out, and during last weeks LA Auto Show; Kazunori Yamauchi, Chaparral and Chevrolet launched the Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision GT concept car is the ninth car in the Vision Gran Tursimo series.

The Chaparral 2X features a head-first driver position, which involves the driver lying completely flat towards the front similar to the Tron Cycle in the Tron movie franchise.

And according to Chevrolet, the 2X in the game at least has a 671kW laser powered by a pack of lithium-ion batteries, and an air-powered generator to produce 900 bhp or a top speed of 242 mph. Chevrolet explains the power-train was "inspired by technology derived from advanced work targeted at space travel and future aircraft design." As the video below shows.

Welcome to the future folks.

End of blog for now, new post soon, bye.
