Review of the round thirteen of the 2014 MotoGP season at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, on the outskirts of Misano Adriatico in east of Italy for the San Marino GP. And the news of Scott Redding will be rejoining Marc VDS Racing in MotoGP for 2015, running the factory Honda RC213V.
In the MotoGP race (V-twin, V4, or Inline-four 1000cc four stroke class), that was won by Movistar Yamaha MotoGP rider Valentino Rossi on his works Yamaha YZR-M1 to give Yamaha and Valentino Rossi their first MotoGP win of the season. Second place was the other Movistar Yamaha MotoGP rider Jorge Lorenzo on his works Yamaha YZR-M1, he was one and a half a second behind Rossi at the end. While, third was Repsol Honda Team rider Dani Pedrosa on his works Honda RC213V, he was four seconds behind Rossi at he end.
In Open class (Full control ECU system, hardware and software), Cardion AB Motoracing rider Karel Abraham won Open class and finish eleventh overall on his Honda RCV1000R, he was 54 seconds behind Rossi at the end.
In the Moto2 race (Inline-four 600 cc four-stroke class), that race was won by Marc VDS Racing Team rider Esteve Rabat on the Kalex. Second was the other Marc VDS Racing Team rider Mika Kallio on the Kalex, he was two seconds behind Rabat at the end of the race. While, third was Caterham Moto Racing rider Johann Zarco on the Caterham Suter, he was four seconds behind Rabat at the end of the race.
While in the Moto3 race (single-cylinder 250 cc four-stroke class), that race was won by Estrella Galicia rider Álex Rins on the Honda. Second was the other Estrella Galicia rider Álex Márquez on the Honda, he was four hundredths of a second behind Rins at the end of the race. While, third was Red Bull KTM Ajo rider Jack Miller on the KTM, he was three seconds behind Rins at the end of the race.
Meanwhile, after the races were finished, it was confirmed (14/9/14) that Scott Redding will be rejoining the Marc VDS Racing in MotoGP for 2015 as the dominant Moto2 team moves up to the top class running a factory spec Honda.
Reading himself been due to step-up from Open to Factory machinery with Gresini Racing. But, after the news of Gresini Racing team running the new Aprilia works team next season. Marc VDS Racing team have stepped up to the premium series next season with Reading on the Honda RC213V.
Currently leading the Moto2 standings with Tito Rabat and Mika Kallio, Marc VDS Racing had explored a MotoGP move several times in recent years but appeared set to wait until the 2016 rules before the Honda opportunity emerged.
And with the news that Scott Reading is returning with the Marc VDS Racing next season in MotoGP. It was also confirmed that the team has already signed MotoGP champion Marc Marquez's younger brother Alex Marquez who is currently a Moto3 title contender to join Esteve Rabat in its Moto2 line-up next year.
