It was confirmed yesterday (21/4/22) on the eve of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix that Ferrari will retain Carlos Sainz, Jr. through to the end of the 2024 Formula 1 season.
Sainz, Jr. joined Ferrari from McLaren for 2021 replacing Sebastian Vettel, finishing fifth in the drivers' standings last season ahead of team-mate Charles Leclerc.
Sainz, Jr currently sits third in the drivers' standings this season, with two third place finishes as his best result.
Overall, a very good decision from Ferrari to keep Carlos Sainz, Jr. for next two seasons. It was rumoured for a while now that Sainz, Jr. will remain with the team going into 2023.
And a wise choice for Ferrari going into the rest of 2022 and into 2023.
