2021 British Grand Prix Review

Review of the tenth round of the 2021 F1 season at Silverstone, Northamptonshire, for the British Grand Prix.

Overall the race itself was enjoyable, entertaining race to watch and the best race win of the season. Max Verstappen was on pole for Sunday's race. In the hot and dry British Grand Prix. Verstappen took the advantage at the start, although Current Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton wasn't giving up. Hamilton and Verstappen collided with each other at copse corner, Verstappen spun sideways across the gravel trap on the outside of the track, and collided with the tyre wall at over 150 mph. The crash saw a red flag brought out following Verstappen retirement and Hamilton received a ten-second time penalty for causing the collision.

After and during the race, Red Bull team advisor Helmut Marko accused Hamilton of dangerous driving and suggested that the seven-time champion be banned for one race, while Team principal Christian Horner echoed Marko's statement and Verstappen's post-race tweet, saying that the penalty issued to Hamilton mid-race wasn't enough and that Hamilton's move was "desperate" and his victory as "hollow". After the race, Hamilton became the target of racial abuse on-line following the race.

In my opinion, it was both drivers fault, Verstappen looked like he was Michael Schumacher trying to block/ram Hamilton into the old pit straight wall (like Hungary 2010), while Hamilton looked like he was Ayrton Senna trying to pass Verstappen at copse (like Japan 1990). The ten-second penalty was fair for Hamilton, although went in their too hot for his own good. While the Red Bull hierarchy needs to calm down, they looked like a couple of babies throwing their toys out of the pram with their comments.

As for the people who racistly abused Hamilton on-line after British Grand Prix they are no fans to me or to Formula 1 and hopefully they will get arrested for their racist comments, you can criticized the person for their actions is one thing but to through racistly abused someone is completely over the line.

After the race restarted, it was Charles Leclerc who took the lead, and was set to win the race. Until the end of lap 40 when Hamilton overtake Bottas for second place, Hamilton to catch Leclerc in 12 laps with a nine seconds he need to gain to win. With Leclerc having power-unit problems, by lap 50 Hamilton took the lead from Leclerc at the exit of copse corner and stayed there to the end to conclude with a race win in this seasons British Grand Prix for Sir Lewis Hamilton's fourth race win of the season.

While, Charles Leclerc finished in second place in the Ferrari, Leclerc was four seconds behind Hamilton at the end.

Meanwhile, Valtteri Bottas finished in third place in the other Mercedes to complete the podium, Bottas was eleven seconds behind Hamilton at the end of the fifty-two lap race.
