Review of Round Nine and the final round of the 2020 British Touring Car Championship season was at Brands Hatch's Indy Circuit, in Kent.
In the first race, Halfords Yuasa Racing driver Dan Cammish took the race win in his Honda Civic Type R (FK8). Second was Laser Tools Racing driver Ash Sutton in his Infiniti Q50 and also took Independents class win, he was a second behind Cammish in the end. While third place was Toyota Gazoo Racing UK with Ginsters driver Tom Ingram in his Toyota Corolla, he was three seconds behind Cammish in the end.
While, Jack Sears Trophy (for drivers yet to record an overall podium finish or won outright the Jack Sears Trophy championship) was won by GKR TradePriceCars.com driver Paul Rivett in his Audi S3 Saloon, he finished in fifteenth place and was thirty-one seconds behind Cammish in the end.
Meanwhile in the second race, Laser Tools Racing driver Ash Sutton in his Infiniti Q50 and also took Independents class win as-well. Second was Toyota Gazoo Racing UK with Ginsters driver Tom Ingram in his Toyota Corolla, he was five seconds behind Sutton in the end. While third place was Halfords Yuasa Racing driver Dan Cammish in his Honda Civic Type R (FK8), he was nine seconds behind Sutton in the end.
While, Jack Sears Trophy was won by The Clever Baggers with BTC Racing driver Michael Crees in his Honda Civic Type R (FK8), he finished in thirteenth place and was thirty-three seconds behind Sutton in the end.
Finally in the third race, Motorbase Performance driver Rory Butcher took the race win in his Ford Focus ST Mk.IV and also took Independents class win as-well. Second was Toyota Gazoo Racing UK with Ginsters driver Tom Ingram in his Toyota Corolla, he was two seconds behind Butcher in the end. While third place was MB Motorsport accelerated by Blue Square drive Jake Hill in his Honda Civic Type R (FK2), he was eight seconds behind Butcher in the end.
Finally, sixth place was Laser Tools Racing driver Ash Sutton in his Infiniti Q50, he was twelve seconds behind Butcher in the end and enough for Ash Sutton to be 2019 BTCC Drivers' Champion for his second title to beat 2019 BTCC Champion Colin Turkington by fourteen points in the last round of the year.
While, Jack Sears Trophy was won by The Clever Baggers with BTC Racing driver Michael Crees in his Honda Civic Type R (FK8), he finished in fifteenth place and was thirty-one seconds behind Sutton in the end.
And so, this years champions, Ash Sutton took the BTCC Drivers' Championship. BMW took the Manufacturers'/Constructors' Championship. Team BMW took the Teams' Championship. While, Ash Sutton took the Independents' Trophy. While, Laser Tools Racing took Independent Teams' Trophy. And Michael Crees took the Jack Sears Trophy.
That's the end of 2020 British Touring Car Championship season. Contracts to the Champions in BTCC this season. And now for the 2021 Season.
